We have had a few Anna Maier Ulla Maija dresses come in over the past few months and they are quickly becoming one of our favorite designers.  The architectural lines, play with fabric, and dramatic details make these dresses stand out.  “Stephanie” epitomizes what we love about Ulla Maija.

Message from the Bride:

“Upon becoming engaged to the love of my life, I immediately proceeded to start the search for the perfect dress. I didn’t have a specific style in mind, however, I wanted something ivory that was fitted, yet dramatic. I hadn’t found anything online that lived up to the vision in my head, so I went to Saks bridal with these parameters: fitted and dramatic. I arrived at Saks with my entourage (BFF and sis) in tow. The lovely saleswoman, Ann, was extremely helpful and took me around the showroom, offering up ideas. We chose a multitude of dresses and headed toward the fitting room. At the last moment, I was drawn, as if by fate, back to the Ulla Maija section and asked about a dress that caught my eye. Ann in turn suggested another dress, a style named Stephanie in that section that she thought would be a better fit for my vision. We grabbed that dress, which was the first one I tried on. It was magical. The moment I stepped into the gown, I knew I had found the dress version of my soul mate. I felt like a sexy princess heading to the Oscars on my wedding day. I walked out into the showroom to get the opinions of my ladies-in-waiting, and their mouths dropped. They knew it, too. I had found “The One” in the first one I tried on. I tried on many, many more beautiful dresses, but none compared to “Stephanie,” my first love.”

With its modern aesthetic, architectural seaming, and unique asymmetrical draping, “Stephanie” embodies couture. The designer chose light gathered silk taffeta for an underskirt and then draped heavier Ducchess silk satin over it to give a multi-dimensional look. The bodice is accented with a crystal floral pin. A 27 point button and tie bustle has been added. This gown is for the bride who isn’t afraid to wear something unconventional.
